NIHR Global Health Research Unit on Respiratory Health (RESPIRE)

Summary (Research in a nutshell)

RESPIRE aims to reduce the impact and number of deaths caused by respiratory diseases in Asia in collaboration with partners from four Asian countries – Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Pakistan.

The programme includes a number of major research projects (some across multiple countries), fellowship projects and PhD studentships focussed on delivering against identified local needs.

Stakeholder engagement, training and capacity development and methodology/data science are all core activities of the Unit, with leads and coordinators in place to help shape this activity.
