There will be two led rides taking place which will take you on quiet, segregated cycle paths from the city centre to the Forum. The route will include cycling on the Innocent railway path and past Craigmillar Castle. The first ride will leave the city centre at 8:30 am, which will get you to NINE Edinburgh BioQuarter at 9 am, and the second ride will leave the city centre at 10:30 am, which will get you to NINE at 11 am. Car Parking at NINE Edinburgh BioQuarter There is a limited number of parking spaces available at NINE. If you requested a car parking space please look out for an email from the Usher NINE Edinburgh BioQuarter operational team (usher.bioquarter@ed.ac.uk) who will be in touch to confirm if you have a reserved parking space/where to park. Please do not choose to drive to NINE without securing a car parking space. [Please note: For those who usually work at NINE you will have priority access to your usual car parking space. If you (or colleagues you are aware of who will be in the building but not attending the Forum) did not request a space when you registered assuming you would simply use your usual spot, please do speak to Julie Davidson/Christy Vaughan so they know not to allocate the space to anyone else.] Professional Photography Sessions We have been in touch with those who have been prioritised for a photography slot and invited to sign up. Cycle Roadshow The University of Edinburgh’s Transport Office will be running a Cycle Road Show which will provide information on active travel initiatives that are available to all staff and students, information on the Cycle2Work Scheme, the chance to try out a range of bikes, along with route planning, and answering any questions you might have in relation to travel and transport to the new Usher Building at Edinburgh BioQuarter. This will be a drop-in session with no need to register in advance. Usher Building visits PLEASE NOTE: The building remains an active construction site. The building contractor, McLaughlin Harvey (McLH) have shared the following mandatory expectations for the visit. These must be adhered to by all visitors as the building remains an active construction site. McLH Mandatory Expectations: 1. All visitors MUST adhere to all site signage & McLH management staff instructions 2. Anyone found to be ignoring these mandatory expectations will be asked to leave site 3. All visitors arrive at promptly at the meeting point – latecomers will not be admitted 4. By signing the attendance register, visitors will be agreeing to follow these mandatory expectations. 5. Visitors must stay within the footpaths and visitor areas. Anyone attempting to access outwith these areas will be asked to leave site. 6. Please note that the lifts are NOT in operation and therefore stairs will be used by all visitors to access the upper floor level. 7. Robust footwear (boots or shoes) and clothing must be worn by visitors. McLH reserve the right to deny access to anyone wearing footwear of clothing deemed to pose a significant unnecessary risk (i.e. flip flops, crocs, high heels, training shoes, etc). 8. McLH will provide hard hats and hi-vis vests to be worn by all visitors during the site visit. All PPE must be returned.
