Professor Steff Lewis appointed as Interim Director for Edinburgh Clinical Trials Unit

Steff joins Professor Rustam Al-Shahi Salman, who serves as the Clinical Director, and Joyce Thomson, the Operations Director, to lead the ECTU during this transitional period. Great thanks goes to John Norrie for his leadership and we wish him every success in his future endeavours in Belfast.

Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh, Director of the Usher Institute, said:

We’re privileged to host ECTU in the Usher Institute and recognise the vitally important role it plays in working with colleagues from across the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM) to deliver high quality clinical trials. It has been wonderful to see the standing and profile of ECTU grow very considerably under Professor John Norrie’s leadership and I would like to take this opportunity to thank John for his dedication to the development of ECTU and to wish him the very best as he moves into his new role at Queen’s University Belfast.

Many congratulations to Professor Steff Lewis who has been appointed as Interim Director of ECTU. We in the Usher Institute look forward to continuing to work closely with Steff and the ECTU leadership team to advance trial methodology and deliver impactful clinical trials led by Principal Investigators from across CMVM and our wider University community.
