The Public Health Policy and Behavioural Research group is led by Linda Bauld and Fiona Dobbie. Their research covers the primary prevention of non-communicable diseases through policy and behavioural interventions. Research in a Nutshell This group is comprised of social scientists who co-develop interventions with communities and evaluate their effectiveness, with a particular focus on nicotine/tobacco use and gambling. They have also conducted research on alcohol and drug use, policies to improve the food environment and promoting healthy weight. This group contains researchers funded by Behavioural Research UK (BR-UK), a leadership hub for behavioural research. BR-UK is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council where Linda Bauld is Principal Investigator. It includes eight universities and partner organisations across all four UK nations.
